My take on this is grappling can be effective on a one on one fight but if you have more than one opponent then you would be in a disadvantage more so if it's a street fight.
What is your take on grappling?

Me too, i think it will only be effective when you are to face on person but if you are to fight more than one person it will be difficult. I think you can learn some fighting technique so you have many in stored for different cases.

I watch sumo wrestling in the NHK channel when it is featured in the news. It is one sport that involved a majority of grappling because there is no hitting in sumo. They say that it is a gentleman's sport and I agree. Grappling will really consume your strength and stamina especially when your opponent is bulky and heavier than you are. Even in mixed martial arts, grappling is used to tone down the strength of the opponent.
