Title: Martial arts for elders

What do you think is the best martial arts to learn for seniors? I have some senior friends who were joking that they wanted to learn karate so that they could fight their husbands when they commit something wrong. It was a joke but there's some sense to it.

I am not really certain which one is good for elder's or senior considering the body health condition. Martial arts requires good physical condition. It also requires flexibility. Rarely you can find an elder's who are physically and mentally active. However, boxing maybe a good opposition for self defense since it only require few actions. It can also loss weight and maintain the physical aspect.
