I don't really know if what I learned was the real progressive resistance training. When I bought a dumbbell, the guy in the shop said that I should start using the dumbbell with 10 reps. That means I would carry the dumbbell standing up which would be the longest distance that the dumbbell can travel. Fine, that was easy. But going up to 11 reps on the next day gave me the thought that after 2 weeks I would be doing more than 20 reps. To be honest, I reached 25 reps and I decided not to increase it anymore for my arms may suffer pulled muscle or undue fatigue.
