Shy to workout in the gym
« on: May 31, 2019, 05:37:32 AM »
To be honest, I don't go to the gym because I am shy to show my flabby waist. I have a friend who works in a gym who was offering a good discount for a workout program but until now I still couldn't muster the courage to avail of the offer. Is there something wrong with me or maybe I am not just an extrovert person. For now I am just content with the diet although I couldn't keep up with the schedule that I often violate my own rules. With physical activities, there's almost none.

I don't go to the gym because people are there to show off at most rather than train. I have a yard, that's where I train. Quietly. :)

Gyms are created for people who want to lose weight or attain their ideal body shape. It is not only a place for weightlifters or a bodybuilder. Being shy to go to the gym is like being shy to go to the hospital and consult the doctor for a check-up. Your body needs it and try not to bother to think about what others think of you.

I think its a normal reaction because you are afraid to face your fear. You will earn your confidence and courage if you take one step forward. However, you can still perform exercises at the comfort of your home. You need to have discipline and be persistent with your goal to lose weight.

I have same situation too, just like others I am shy going to the gym and work out. That is why I have my place and equipment  in our house so that I can work out. I invited my friends who want to work out and as of now that is our daily routine.

It takes a little getting used to. Besides you have to find a good gym of course. But when you learn to ignore what others might think of you, you could focus more on your training and improving your physique. Your shyness will be replaced with pride once you get rid of those fats and you will feel good about yourself and won't feel shy no more.
