Apple (iOS) v Samsung (Android)
« on: August 17, 2018, 05:47:35 PM »
The battle of having the best mobile phone between Apple and Samsung is always a common debate every year as both tech giants release newer and better handsets every year.

I personally prefer Samsung as it offers more flexibility over how you configure your device without having a locked down OS which is reliant on iTunes etc - currently using a Samsung Note 8, it can do pretty much everything the latest iPhone can but at easily 250 cheaper cost.

I admit few years back Samsung were way behind the pace... but in the last couple of years the tables have turned, Samsung are definitely at the top!  8)

Samsung is a lot cheaper than iPhone but between the two I'll choose iPhone because it doesn't have any bugs.  I had an s2 and a galaxy note 3 several years back and they both have glitches.  Usually when the internal memory is depleted it would just hang and it would need a hard reset unlike iPhone or iPad it doesn't hang or stalls.  Although when it comes to O.S. I do prefer Android than iOS, to me its simpler to configure.

When it comes to pricing, Samsung is way cheaper to Apple devices. But I think Apple is more durable and has a lot advantages in terms of specifications.

I prefer iphone because of it's classy look. It's size is convenient. Iphone supports update of IOS to their old units. I like the clarity of the camera. It has a good resolution. Sound wise, it's perfectly good. I love the feeling of having a heavy phone compared to light phones. There are disadvantages of iphone especially the price is expensive. It doesn't have external memory storage. It doesn't share or install apps if not from app store. But still i prefer to choose it because of it's good quality and durability.

How does Apple have a lot of advantages? Benchmark tests show Samsung performs equally as well if not better in some areas...

When the smart phone came out in the market, I was lucky to be gifted by a friend with a Samsung. That phone lasted for 3 years because it developed a problem with the internal charger. I had to buy a separate battery charger because the phone couldn't charge itself anymore. After a few months I bought another Samsung and it was great. Now I have my 3rd Samsung and the 2nd is still working (I gave it to my husband). I like Samsung because it is cheap but of high quality.
