Clean bill of health
« on: August 19, 2019, 02:49:08 AM »
Do you think that a gym membership particularly for the newbie should require a doctor's certificate for a clean bill of health? There was a case where a guy doing his first workout seemed to suffer from a heart attack. It was fortunate that there was a clinic in the building that a doctor was able to give him first aid before bringing him to the hospital for tests. If indeed there are health issues then I guess they should not be allowed to workout in the gym.

I think it would be a great advantage for both parties (gym owner and member) to have medical certificate. It's an assurance that the member is well and physically fit. The owner's don't have to worry a member's health condition. However, a person will find it a hassle to get medical examination. It's a burden of time and additional expenses. Remember, mostly of us wants to do short cut ritual. We go to hospital when everything is worst. I am thinking maybe those gym industry should have a trained medical personnel to response on immediate emergency.
